Description:   You are invited to join Villager Anjala Ehelebe for easy, accessible birding at Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge. All are welcome; this will be geared for beginning to intermediate level birders.

Located just east of Washougal, WA, the refuge is the Western gateway to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The meeting location is the parking lot for Steigerwald Lake NWR, which is off SR 14 east of Washougal (45.571534, -122.320238).

Anjala will have a bright banner so you can find her. The main Refuge entrance has a parking lot with one ADA van accessible spot/unloading area and one additional ADA accessible parking spot on the east side of the lot near the trailhead kiosk.

The bird walk can be a 3.5 mile out and back hike at a 1 A classification for speed and slope (relatively slow and flat terrain), but we'll adjust for the abilities of those who come.

Dress for possible harsh wind and rain.  Bring your binoculars and bird i.d. books, and a water bottle.  The restrooms are near the parking lot, but there are none in the refuge, so hydrate mindfully.
