3 PM Virtual Author Series - NE Village PDX

“Class Notes: A Young Teacher's Lessons from Classroom to Kennedy Compound,” Carolyn Wood

Virtual Author Series - Hosted by Northeast Village PDX

Friday, June 17th, 3:00 pm

June Author:  Portland author Carolyn Wood is the second guest in our NEV Author Series. Carolyn first rose to fame when she won a gold medal in the Olympics at the tender age of 14. She has been an English teacher and writer for over 35 years. She will discuss her most recent book, "Class Notes: A Young Teacher's Lessons from Classroom to Kennedy Compound," the story of her journey going from a classroom to being a governess for the Kennedy family. Q & A to follow.

In May, Northeast Village was pleased to announce that we will be hosting a series of virtual live presentations with Portland area authors. NEV member and avid book lover Joan Malling was inspired to create the series after watching a similar program aired from Paris that showcased authors discussing their work. She enlisted the support of her longtime friend and fellow Village member Roberta Dyer, former owner of
Broadway Books. The two women collaborated in organizing the program that will run for several months over the remainder of the year.

Registration is required and the event is open to everyone.
