Movie this Month: Anesthesia (2016), Written and directed by Tom Blake Nelson.
This existential movie challenges us to examine what may be truly important about living, and makes it clear that this question is universal to everyone. It may not matter what circumstances our lives seem to be. What matters, is how we choose to meet those circumstances. To live, and to care about how to truly be alive, is surely a worthy preoccupation.
We see the lives of several characters: including a self-destructive student, a hard-drinking housewife, and an impoverished junkie that are linked to the brutal attack of a philosophy professor on the verge of giving his final lecture before retiring after a long teaching career. This film will not let you down!
Watch the movie via the web application "Kanopy" anytime before the discussion date and bring your comments and insights to the online meeting.
