"As you grow older, you will find you have two hands - one for helping yourself, the other for helping others," Audrey Hepburn.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of River West Village. Everything we do wouldn't happen without you - the volunteers who contribute a little to a lot of time. The opportunities range from designing the bingo card for the picnic icebreaker or delivering a gift and having a porch visit to meeting with new members, training volunteers, hosting an activity, a weekly shift in our virtual office or driving someone to a medical appointment.

As we head into the summer season, we are doing more in-person activities and outreach to bring new members and volunteers into our Village. Other volunteers are needed to assist with the operations and administration. If there's something you enjoy doing as a volunteer, we need you. A few of our immediate needs include:

  • Volunteers with marketing expertise - writing, social media posting, ideas for getting the word out about the Village
  • Graphic designer
  • Membership Team volunteers to meet with prospective members, follow up on renewals and help new members get involved
  • 1-2 volunteers to coordinate our popular gift delivery that's kept us connected during the pandemic
  • Organizing the mailing of our annual appeal letter this fall
  • Occasional yard work
  • Driving
  • Office Team - weekly 4-hour shift fielding calls and emails from members and volunteers and scheduling services

"This is the best volunteer opportunity I've ever had! I can try new things and share the skills I've gained over my lifetime," Kit Pierce, River West volunteer.
