Women’s Coffee Group
Join the River West Village ladies for coffee, tea and conversation. Our coffee groups are informal social events. Bring a friend and get to know your RWV neighbors. No RSVP necessary.
When: Every Thursday, 10 am to noon
Where: Prosperity Pie Shoppe, 7814 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland
We are now recruiting volunteers to drive, do household tasks, help with yard maintenance, troubleshoot technology and work in our “virtual office” when we open on October 1.
All volunteers have background checks and will have completed Village volunteer training.

Atul Gawande to Keynote 15th Anniversary of the Village Movement
September 25, 1:45-3:30 p.m., Southminster Presbyterian Church
To celebrate its 15th anniversary and the Village movement it inspired, Beacon Hill Village in Boston has invited Villages around the country to participate in a live video broadcast with Dr. Atul Gawande, MD, MPH, renowned surgeon, public health researcher, and author of the seminal book Being Mortal. Dr. Gawande will speak about the value of community and the importance of having choices and opportunities as we grow older. Villages support individual autonomy by providing services and extending community to people who want to remain in their own homes as they age.

When: Monday, September 25, 2017, from 1:45-3:30 (Doors open at 1:30).
Free Admission to Village Members and Volunteers. Public: $5.00.
